So in the hopes that blogpress will cooperate we are trying this in a 2 part entry since it keeps failing to post

Today was Forester Pass, the highest point on the actual trail at 13,200 ft this is pretty darn high. Our day started with a nice crossing of Wallace Creek. We've been using various guides and maps and one of them keeps warning us about river fords and potentially high rivers. But with our low snow year we've been super lucky and rock hopped all of them so far. So on our way we went, made it a whole 5 or 10 minutes before we had to stop because the view was just to good. Breakfast with a view out here is a must.
Then on to Bighorn Plateau.
Down to Tyndall Creek (roaring but still rock hop-able). And now it was the long approach to the pass. Fields of rocks and creeks and frozen lakes staring at a little notch in the mountainside.
It's that tiny notch way back in the distance on the right (above) but it's getting closer (below)...
Looking around as the climb starts.
Looking back from where we came.
