Well here it is, just understand that this is a work in progress. I have little control over the trail, but can at least decide what I put on my back. My gear will change, things that don't get used or break will be switched up, I am also particularly skillful at losing things so who knows what my gear will end up like. As far as the list itself I bought a kitchen scale and had originally been weighing stuff in ounces but the totals were getting more and more inaccurate so I went with grams. Enjoy
I wish I didn't run cold and fear hunger and dehydration but hey we all have fears right?

Hope to see what you finally decided on. These are always brain twisters, aren't they? Everytime I go out I have a new kit, it always changes. I'm sure your choices will be fine.
ReplyDeleteHi Maya! Congratulations again on finishing the PCT :). My mom is strongly considering doing it, as well. She was wondering what equipment worked out for you, and what was unnecessary or did not work so well? Also, I was wondering how you were able to keep the journal without a solar panel to charge the Iphone? Did you just charge it at convenience stores and what not? Hope you are well.
ReplyDeleteHey Eli! I finally started putting together a review of all my gear and I promise I'll finish it soon. Your mom can ask me anything more specific if she wants. I used solar, goal zero nomad charger. Alternated between just charging the battery pack and using the solar panel. Depended on how long a stretch I was on.
DeletePS: This is Eli Weissman.
ReplyDeleteHi Maya! This is Erin/Backup, who was hiking with Buster and Grit. I think we all stealth camped at the delicious water spigot off of Sunrise Highway. Anyway, I didn't finish my thru hike last year due to shin splints (left at Wrightwood...), but I'm already planning on starting another thru in 2014. YAY. I was wondering how you liked the Shock Absorber sports bra. I had a moving comfort one, and it sucked, so I'm looking for a different one for next time. Sports bras seem to be the least reviewed pieces of gear out there.
